AACSA Senior Citizen Connected!

The San Jose Sharks will honor Black History Month and invite the community to join them for a pre Block Party with local African American/African Ancestry organizations, live DJ, games, and more. The African American Community Service Agency (AACSA) has been selected as one of the nonprofits to be recognized and highlighted at the game.

STEAM on Saturday is a free annual program that aims to expose and indulge youth, and their families, to enrichment and educational opportunities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.

In light of recent discussions to build a new jail in Santa Clara County, we want to highlight community voices surrounding the topic of incarceration and mental health. Mental health cases within the Black community are often overlooked and those with serious mental health illnesses are criminalized instead of being rehabilitated. Similarly, mental health cases are disproportionately high among the Black community. We want to create a space to discuss the correlation between incarceration and mental health, talk about alternatives to incarceration, and how the current system could be more humane.

The objective is to provide an educational experience for aspiring professionals to learn the best tips, strategies, and practices to have a successful interview with prospective employers.

We know the impact that the stresses of daily life can have on an individual and/or family. We want to provide a space for the entire family and community to learn healthy ways to manage, as well as provide a space to let go. This program has been adapted to fit the lifestyle of the working professional - listen in from the comfort of your desk!
